Nursery: Ages 3-4

4-6 campers per group | 2:1 supervision ratio

Our nursery program is a camp within a camp, designed to offer preschoolers a true Deer Mountain experience at their level. It’s specifically tailored to support their physical, emotional, and social development with rich, interactive programming.

Surrounded by warm, enthusiastic staff members who specialize in early childhood, nursery campers enjoy their air-conditioned building which serves as their home base as well as their own lunch area, playground and pool. They participate in numerous other activities around camp, utilizing the full breadth and depth of our facility.

Your child will learn to swim during two daily periods (instructional and recreational) in their own heated pool, 2’ to 4’ deep. Your preschooler will stay active daily – running, jumping, catching and throwing – learning basic (gross motor focused) skills in all the major team sports we play at camp. Daily, they’ll also create arts & crafts. Weekly, they will learn real skills and have a blast while experiencing tennis, nature, boating and fishing, gymnastics, martial arts, cooking, ceramics, photography, dance, music, playground time, yoga, story time, special events, and more!

Division Leaders oversee small nursery groups, led by college-aged counselors. Campers are grouped by age and gender, but boys and girls do activities together. Activity Specialists are also present every period of the camp day to help your child feel safe and comfortable to try new things—and develop real skills and early interests.
